after living a fairly reclusive life these past*mumble*years, i have been feeling the need for more human companionship
sorry mel, hags dont count
weel i have made some (i would dare say good) friends online
it has really helped these past few years
now it is time to take a bigger step
i joined myspace and gaywatch and justguys
met some nice people
most far away
i joined yahoo personals and have had a few nibbles(figuratively speaking)
one guy stood out
no photo, but i really liked the profile
i know, i know, i hear all the buts out there
we've exchanged emails and spoken on the phone
tonite we had dinner and he came over to watch a movie(Adam and Steve)
i had a really good time
i'm looking forward to seeing him again

armando is doing better. he is still walking a little stiff, but the crying has stopped and he is more interested in food again.

Monday, March 26, 2007

When I walked in the door from work today, I knew something was wrong. Only 3 of my pack were there to greet me. I went straight to the bedroom and there he was, on his pillow, trembling and crying. I swept Armando into my arms and on the way out the door was callong the vet to let them know we were coming.

The exam indicated some inflammation and pain in Armando's neck. X-rays show nothing, so Dr. VetDreamy believes it is a disk malfunction(not his words, I cant recall exactly what he said. Armando is on pain meds and should show improvement within 3 days. No jumping up or down from furniture. No going up and down steps. For 2 weeks!

Sweet baby! My heart hurts to hear his moans and whimpers. He is still hurting.

UPDATE
i have recently discovered that the picures below(except the last one) are actually NOT from Katrina, but they are neat, so i am not deleting them

My mother forwarded this email:

Photos of Katrina over Mississippi

These pictures were made by a man in Magee, MS w here the eye of the storm passed thru - what an experience. Magee is 150 miles North of Waveland, Mississippi where the Hurricane made landfall. The dance with Katrina, part of her beauty as she left destruction on her exit. They are remarkably dramatic.

The following picture was taken from the third story balcony of Saint Stanislaus College located next door to Our Lady of the Gulf church in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi on the morning of August 29th, 2005. This is believed to be the initial tidal wave from Hurricane Katrina. The tidal wave was approximately 35 to 40 feet high. When is slammed into the beach front communities of Bay Saint Louis and Waveland Mississippi to completely destroyed 99% of every structure along the beach for 9 miles and over ΒΌ of a mile inland. The destruction only started there. The flooding that continued inland destroyed the contents of all but 35 homes in these two communities of approximately 14,000 people.
