A LOUISIANA BLESSING

Note: If you are not a resident of LOUISIANA or never have lived in the hot, humid South, you may not understand the weight of this blessing!

Bless this house, oh Lord, we cry.
Please keep it cool in mid-July.
Bless the walls where termites dine,While ants and roaches march in time.
Bless our yard where spiders pass
Fire ant castles in the grass.
Bless the garage, a home to pleaseCarpenter beetles, ticks and fleas.
Bless the love bugs, two by two,The gnats and mosquitoes that feed on you.
Millions of creatures that fly or crawl,
In LOUISIANA, Lord, you've put them all!!

But this is home, and here we'll stay,So thank you Lord, for insect spray.

HOLD IT.............there's more....................

YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN LOUISIANA IN JULY WHEN. . . ..
The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
(I like this one!)The trees are whistling for the dogs.
The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
Hot water now comes out of both taps.
You can make sun tea instantly.
You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly.
You discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
The cows are giving evaporated milk.
Ah, what a place to call home.
God Bless Our State of LOUISIANA!

hi honies

no jazzy, there was no 'r' after that 'o'

life has been a bit icky lately, and busy
i have one grandparent still living-my daddy's mother
granny is 92 and she has been living alone since pawpaw died about 10 years ago
she has been abit off for years, bvut all of a sudden just recently the proverbial merde hit the fan
she still knows who everyone is, but that's about it
a while back she started falling, etc and so daddy and his siblings got her one of those "i've fallen and i cant get up" medallions that calls for assistance
well, granny would push the button for every little thing
"i need help getting out of bed; my legs are stiff with arthritis"
"can i have a glass of water" not a joke
okay, so they take it away from her
a couple days later, she falls and lands on her face and cant get up and is like that until my cousin found her like that 4 hours later; pam cant help her up alone and has to call for help
granny wears depends, and lately started taking them off when needing to and tossing them in a corner!
she stopped calling daddy every night before she went to bed as was her habit and then stopped talking completely, and seemed to be in a daze
medicines were changed and all that, but her kookiness just continued to spiral downwards
she is now in an alzheimer's assisted living home and she is doing better
like i said she knows who everyone is and is talking again and starting to take better care of herself; she was pissed off that the people there wouldnt help her get dressed the other day; as time goes by andd she improves they try to get her to do more for herself
well, these places arent cheap, no matter what jj says
we are going to have to sell her house to pay for continued stay there as "the siblings" do not want to put her in a regular resthome that accepts such things as medicaid
going thru someone's possessions and dispersing them and such is really a horrible thing when someone has died; doing it while they are still living and have no say(because they dont know) is a horrible horrible feeling, like stealing
they told her she is there "for tests" because they don't want her to give up and deteriorate further
as long as "the siblings" realize there turn is coming and it wont be THAT long.....
well

the other icky thing is that i have returned to work
yes it is that time
gotta get set up and ready for the little monsters
first PAID day back isnt till the 12th
kids return the 17th
new job
new school
new problems
but nothing like BD
at least not yet
knock wood
